The Top 10: Songs by Slipknot.


Heavy metal giants Slipknot have been around since 1997 making it nearly 20 years and changing music and is genre ever since. The band have reached almost god like status with headlining some of the biggest festivals and venues as well as picking up a Grammy Award in 2006!

 

10. Killpop.

Released in 2015 and was featured on the album '.5: The Gray Chapter' Corey Taylor said: 'You know, what’s funny is over the last few weeks, I’ve really gotten everyone’s interpretation of what that song means to them, and it’s nowhere near what I wrote about. So it’s kind of interesting to hear people’s interpretations of what I’m singing about. And I’ll be honest with you: the song is my reflection on my relationship with music'

 

9. Left behind.

Released in 2001 and was featured on the album 'Iowa' The song reached number 24 on the UK Singles Chart and was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2002.

 

8. Eyeless.

Released in 1999 and was featured on the album 'Slipknot' The album spans several genres, but is generally noted for its extensive percussion and overall heavy sound. It was well received by fans and critics alike and was responsible for bringing Slipknot a large increase in popularity.

 

7. Custer.

Released in 2014 and was featured on the album '.5: The Gray Chapter.' The writing process of the record began in late 2013. Wanting to dedicate more time to the album, guitarist Jim Root decided not to tour with Stone Sour.

 

6. People = Shit.

Released in 2001 and was featured on the album 'Iowa'' it was recorded and produced at Sound City and Sound Image studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ross Robinson,.

 

5. Spit it out.

Released in 1999 and was featured on the album 'Slipknot' According to Setlist.fm Spit it out is Slipknot 3rd

most played song live.

 

4. (Sic).

Released in 1999 and was featured on the album 'Slipknot' Corey Taylor joined In 1997, following the band's demo release Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat., the members of Slipknot continued to write new material and work in SR Audio, a local studio.

 

3. Dead Memories.

Released in 2008 and was featured on the album 'All Hope Is Gone' was remarked upon for its melody and accessibility. Reviewing for Blabbermouth.net, Ryan Ogle says that the track shows Slipknot's diversity, he went on to state it is "well-written and melodious"

 

2. The Devil In I.

Released in 2014 and was featured on the album '.5: The Gray Chapter.' a countdown was put up on Slipknot's official website telling fans to come back on August 11, 2014 for "A special announcement". The announcement was revealed to be the cover art for the new single titled "The Devil in I". This was disappointing for some fans as Corey Taylor had already revealed the title of the single in an interview for BBC Radio 1

 

1.5 Duality.

Released in 2003 and was featured on the album 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)' The music video was listed as Roadrunner Records' greatest video of all-time. The album version of "Duality" is four minutes and twelve seconds long, and the radio edited version is three minutes and thirty-three seconds long.

 

1. Wait and Bleed.

Released in 1999 and was featured on the album 'Slipknot ' Wait and Bleed" is about a man who keeps getting repetitive black and white dreams about laying in a bathtub full of his own blood with his wrists cut. One day, the man wakes up and sees that his dreams have become a reality, but he doesn't want to believe it and he attempts to fall back asleep again.
