Suicide Silence love them or hate them you cannot deny they are key part of the deathcore genre, and with their self-titled new album causing much outrage to the community we thought it was time to see if this impacted their live shows.
So we headed over to Bristol the Marble Factory on a bloody cold windy day! Typical English weather really...
To kick off the show the first band on was Roads To Nowhere. Obviously the local act playing the show as they had lots of local support in the crowd! and having not heard of them before I was pleasantly pleased with their punchy vocals and Symbolic breakdowns.
Roads To Nowhere mixed up with classic deathcore breakdowns and cleans vocals. You could see the band are enjoying themselves on stage and made it very clear that they deserve to be up there! This band is definitely one to watch for the future and made their presence know. I especially liked that halfway through the set they seem to bring out a drum and bass sample, that change the pace of their dramatic performance.

Venom Prison next and I found myself switching off halfway through their set, again having never heard of them before I didn't know what to expect.
They seem to just walk on and then walk off. They finished without really saying a word to the crowd and to the band that played before them.
Venom Prison are an interesting band, A mixture between death metal and classic rock, they had old-fashioned breakdowns with occasional guitar wank-ery. But nothing out of the ordinary. The crowd are expecting more and didn't get any. If they're playing down the local pub I might go and see them.

Deez Nuts gave some much-needed energy to the room. Obviously crowd favourite out of the support as soon as they started I began to see a pit develop, That instant crowd spitting moment I knew I was in for a good show!
Their stage performance was excellent clearly seeing the banter between the band and to the crowd. The confident front man obviously knew what he was doing, and with the nu-metal rap vocals completely change the show as a whole.
There was something unique about this band. After coming out for a smoke after their set, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. They are definitely a band to check out and a great support to the show as a whole.

Suicide Silence opened with their controversial track Doris, to which we thought was a clever move by the band getting it out of the way of the set so fast.
I don't really have much to say about the song as I'm sure you've already heard a lot, but let's just say it sounds exactly the same live as it does on the record, which doesn't normally happen so I will credit that.
Listening to No pity for a coward which we would call vintage Suicide Silence! And for the first time that night, I saw the Marble Factory in Bristol lose their sh*t!
The crowd demanded more and Suicide Silence delivered!
However, when there's an up, there's a down. And after we were treated to Silence and to be honest with you I found myself more looking at the crowds reactions to the song there actually focusing on the band.
The song was not well received. The energy in the room immediately sunk like a heavy stone in a pond.
Suicide Silence was an interesting show overall, I feel like they are still trying to please their old fans with the 'Suicide Silences greatest hits' but also mixing in some of their new material.
Suicide Silence definitely to work on something, We really can't see what direction the band is going in. It's lucky that this tour we were ONLY treated to 5 singles from the new album. But what about the next tour?
Suicide Silence can't keep repeating the same old 'glory day' songs! but when the new album is met with criticism from their fans.
I found a fan summed up the best after the show by stating 'I wish they had used auto-tune, made it sound great so that than the band wouldn't die'
